Yarnboard ("Yarnboard", "we", "us") is a personal knowledge tool that lets you save notes, links, images, and documents, tag them, and search across everything. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Yarnboard is operated by Nathan McKaskle. Questions? Email nathan.mckaskle@gmail.com.

Information we collect

How we use Google user data

If you connect your Google account, Yarnboard requests read-only access to your Google Drive and Google Docs (drive.readonly and documents.readonly scopes) for one purpose only: to let you browse your documents and import the ones you choose into Yarnboard. We access this data only while performing an import you initiate, we copy only the documents you explicitly select, and we never modify or delete anything in your Google account.

Yarnboard's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties except as needed to provide the import feature you asked for. You can revoke Yarnboard's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

How we use your information

We use the information above to provide and maintain the service: to authenticate you, store and display your content, power search and tagging, and operate the app. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run Yarnboard:

These providers process data only to provide their service to us.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your content until you delete it or close your account. You can delete individual items at any time, and you can permanently delete your entire account and all associated content from the app's settings. Deleting your account removes your data from our active systems.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections, passwords are hashed, and access to stored files is granted through short-lived signed URLs. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

Yarnboard is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
